Britain took Israel from the Ottomans in WW1, not WW2. The Balfour declaration was also made in 1917. The Nazi's didn't even exist back then.

Just as Israel was taken from the Jews millenia ago, Palestine was taken from the Palestinians back then. If Palestine has a legitimate claim to the region, then so did the United Kingdom, and so had every right to give it back to the Jews.

So might makes right? The romans persecuting Jews centuries ago doesn't give the Jews a right to persecute Palestinian Arabs today. Even if we assume the British Empire has a right to conquer territory by military might, it doesn't give them the right to ethnically cleanse their conquests.
