Illumination as a whole is a textbook example of mediocrity in animation. Pretty much all the work they do is competent, but that's about all I can give it any credit for. They struck gold with the first Despicable Me then proceeded to milk it until it ran dry... but that property is the cash cow that always has at least one drop left. Can't wait for Minions 2: Rise of Gru coming to a theater near you in 2022 (but hopefully never really)! Edit: Actually I do enjoy the Sing movies for what they are.
