I'll take the girlfriend. Knowledge without the ability to meaningfully share it or use it to shape yourself or the world around you is just torment. Would anyone actually believe me if I told them? Could I actually use my knowledge to build a device capable of travelling to or even merely contacting other intelligent life? Could I aid the scientific community in any meaningful way beyond just vaguely pointing at a star in the sky and saying 'the race of kangaroo people live there?' Most likely not. And knowing when the universe ends is irrelevant, considering that the odds of said end affecting me are nil.
