I'm not sure he should have been fired for being pissed beyond belief that someone made a mistake by almost killing his son. (and the slur) The fellow was as angry, with good reason, as they could possibly be when he made his mistake. The person that almost killed someone wasn't angry at all when they didn't care about their mistake.
