It do be like that, until you can ride bascelegion. But why is 99% of all land near water edges that you can't even get up if you fall into the water, I drowned so many times it's sad but also a little funny because it is the only reason I've been incapacitated.

Only time Ive been knocked out, but the number of Pokmon Ive had KOd has already probably reached the total number in all previous Pokmon games combined. Not counting competitive and battle tower/tree/subway/etc stuff.
