Quantum computers can't magically break any encryption that exists. There's just some specific encryption algorithms that, in theory, a quantum computer should be able to crack, many many orders of magnitude faster than a regular one can. Bitcoin's algorithm is probably fucked (though I don't know enough about it to say for sure), but there will certianly be ones out there that are not. But it's not that quantum computers are inherently lightning-fast per se; it's just that certain algorithms have weaknesses that only a quantum computer can exploit (while a regular one cannot).
