I think I remember hearing it was shit many years agoit was good at the start for the first few years (back then it was known as windows security essentials) and its been good now for the past few years. there was a period of time inbetween that where they purposely made it worse due to fears of antitrust lawsuits or something but that time has passed there are some paid antiviruses that do a better job, but its not all of them. there's two factors to consider. accuracy, and speed. theres some that are faster (or less of a resource hog, whatever) and some that are more accurate, but defender is near the top of the charts on both these days, without pushing marketing down your throat or costing anything other than you paid for the OS TheMikh posted... linuxlinux has viruses ...
