Topic	Let's be honest, the Pokemon anime will probably never a have proper ending

You have a Pikachu who essentially has fought against most of the shows gym leaders and Elite 4, yet loses to a starter pokemon. And then there's the whole deal with Ash still being eleven, which is extremely unusual for a Japanese anime, as they tend to do time jumps. Even Digimon had a time skip.
