Disclaimer: I do not claim there is any validity to the bullshit in the OP. To the contrary, I explicitly claim that it is bullshit. On the flipside, nor am I saying that it should be happening. I am simply clarifying, to the best of my knowledge, what the outcome would or wouldn't be. (I know, I shouldn't need to have this disclaimer, but mods seem to have extreme difficulty realising these things unless they are explicitly pointed out.)

Now that that disclaimer's out of the way - it wouldn't be pointless even if they could only administer one dose. One dose doesn't give the same level of protection as two doses, but it does still give some degree of protection. It's certianly a lot better than zero doses.

Just think about the fact that the J&J vaccine was accepted as being not entirely useless, even though for all intents and purposes it's just AstraZeneca without the second shot.
