Unless you're making a habit of going to balls, a tux is really only useful for your own wedding, and that's ideally a one-time thing (I think only one person recognized the reference) If you're old money or are otherwise part of Society (note the capital S before taking umbrage) then it's expected you own a tuxedo and your going to be wearing it after eighteen hundred hours. I've never owned a tux and I no longer have any suits; when I did there was never any real occasion to wear a Tux and the suits seem overkill in retrospect. If I dress up these days it's black jeans, dress shirt, maybe a blazer or nice jacket; I never wear dress shoes anymore, they going to be steel toed or composite safety boots. --- Why didn't you DODGE‽‽‽ Quoting me will trigger the profanity filter, Not Joking.
