are the same words they used for them? I was just reading the Roman Currency Wikipedia article (because sure why not) and it begins with a simple sentence, an elegant sentence. This, B8, is that sentence.

The Roman currency during most of the Roman Republic and the western half of the Roman Empire consisted of coins including the aureus (gold), the denarius (silver), the sestertius (bronze), the dupondius (bronze), and the as (copper).

The ancient Romans could very well have called their gold pieces the aureus, but aside from just, like, reading things in ancient Rome...

Oh.
