I think that actually would have hurt Belle if somebody had taken that offer. I didn't care muc either way about it (since I still had Scar left), but if somebody had taken the offer I would've started gunning for her.
So it was more of a "if I take this offer there's no way she'd end up winning due to the resentment of the deal and I don't want to waste my time" type of thing? I guess I can see that. During the time me and Poke put the offer out there we were desperate though, as we knew we just had to keep her afloat until Vish returned. Even if it caused resentment I was still hoping someone would take it.
