I remember once seeing a video on Youtube titled, "Survivor: Douchebag" which was a season made up of the biggest douchebag from each season, and Alex was the representative from Amazon, and, having not seen Amazon in a while, I was like, "What did he do?" Upon a rewatch, I totally agree.

I don't remember much about him, but I still remember him completely sucking. Amazon had a lot of people who sucked. Alex was one of the worst though.

Who else was in that video?

Unfortunately he is also a huge douchebag, which has been the early downfall of several people who fit his description (most recently Matt on One World). He was extremely cocky and condescending, and had a hint of chauvinism in him as well.

I'm not a Joel fan. He was one of the least interesting for Borneo. But I feel like a lot of his negativity came from what others were saying about him, rather than what we were actually shown. Some of the stuff they would splice with what others were saying, almost sounded more like an over-reaction from their part. I think Joel was sometimes just trying to be nice and helpful, and people would take it the wrong way.

But as it stands he was a complete enigma.

Except to Parvati!

According to Tyson, Russell was positive that he was going home when he played his idol on Parvati (hence his quote before handing her the idol), and the only reason he played it on her was because he knew that even if he made it through this tribal council and Parvati was voted out, he would be next, so he decided to leave the game with some dignity and look like a tragic hero.

Russell admits this too! I've seen him say that in interviews.

So even though J.T. really helped ruin the rest of the season with that, I don't consider it the dumbest move ever because it could have worked out brilliantly. So now Russell has an idol and a bigger ego than ever, goes into the merge and gets rid of J.T. with his own idol.

Russell had been playing things up in front of the Heros for a little while. How much of that affected JT? Who knows. JT clearly already had the idea, and maybe Russell's comments and body language when he knew JT was taking the bait was enough to fully seal the deal.

"instead it became The Russell And Nobody Else Show Part 2."

Not true at all.
