315. Brad Virata (Cook Islands, 12th place)

We're getting to the point where the forgettable Cook Islanders are going to start falling, and that ball starts rolling with Brad. Brad was kinda just there for most of the season. He had a couple of funny moments early on involving Cao Boi's antics, but after the first absorption he kinda just faded away. Eventually he showed back up and kinda screwed himself over. He was his tribe's strongest swimmer by a fairly large margin and insisted on doing the puzzle portion of a half-swimming, half-puzzle challenge. Of course his tribe lost because they had to send out their weaker swimmers up against Ozzy, possibly the strongest swimmer ever to play the game. Then just when the mutiny happened and it looked like he was in a very safe position because Jonathan and Candice were easy targets for the next two votes, he began giving his tribe reasons not to trust him, and it culminated with him announcing that he didn't trust his tribe just before the vote at tribal council. Not surprisingly, he was voted out, but the big surprise for both the players and viewers is that he became the first person to place below 9th and still be included on the jury, something that would become fairly standard in most futures seasons.

314. Brenda Lowe (Nicaragua, 10th place)

I know some of you are gonna be kicking and screaming that I placed Brenda too low, but to be honest, this is actually a lot higher than I would have placed her a year ago, and she still has nowhere to go but up. Brenda annoyed me quite a bit throughout Nicaragua. A lot of her confessionals were very much like the one where she imitated a baby and said that it was Chase, her biggest ally, and I hated that dinging sound that they edited in when she showed her teeth. Additionally, I didn't find her all that attractive. Yeah, she was cute, but she was barely the fifth hottest person of her season, and yet everyone was all "ZOMG hottest Survivor evar!" And of course there's the whole guilty by association thing, where the fact that she was aligned with so many people that I hated increased my dislike for her. That being said, over the years I have gained a ton of respect for her gameplay. Very few women have alpha'd over an alliance like she did, and even though Kim was more successful at it, Brenda did it first. Give it some more time and a couple more rewatches and I could easily see Brenda shooting up as much as 100 spots or so. And with Brenda out, Holly is the last person remaining from one of the worst alliances in Survivor history.

313. Brianna Varela (Guatemala, 16th place)

Guatemala is a season that I remember for its huge personalities. I can't deny that, whether I like or dislike them, 17 of the 18 people were filled to the brim with personality. Brianna was the one dud. The first two episodes she had one confessional in each episode basically saying how happy she was to be there, and the third episode was pretty much her talking about how much she disliked Lydia and not knowing what a pick was. Okay, so she wasn't good at sports. I didn't know what a pick was back then either. But at least try. I think she was literally picking her nails during that challenge. So I didn't feel bad when she was voted off. I do love that she outlasted Russell in the all-inclusive Save My Survivor though.
