i think jrpgs will make a revival in the next 5 years. its just a hunch...but im hopeful =]
I feel like if they do, it will involve smaller studios. Starting your own independent development company seems like a trend for major game designers these days, especially in Japan. Maybe some of them could save JRPGs.
