it actually kind of makes less booking sense for him not to screw somebody over. why even have him as part of the match?
he said his entire reason for being there was to make sure there was an absolute undisputed champ leaving summerslam, and then he stood there as nash attacked punk and del rio won the title in highly controversial fashion

and he "botched" the finish by missing cena's foot on the rope. so not only did del rio win the title controversially, he won the title from a guy who won the title controversially. so what exactly is HHH's purpose in the match?
To be the special guest referee. I thought it was very clear that HHH wasn't happy with what happened - do you really think his reactions suggest otherwise?
