I don't think a 70 year old Lou Reed is capable of producing an album that compares to three of the best albums ever, and certainly not with a middle aged Metallica, but Lou Reed still has a great voice. It's more fragile now, sure, but he could put out a tender album and it'd be alright.
But with Metallica? It's so weird!
Oh I'm fairly sure Lou Reed still has it in him, but like you said, with Metallica (now that is) I don't see great things happening
