All 649 Pokemon were grouped into pools, and points were awarded or subtracted by the users (a la UotY). In Round 1, they were divided into 64 groups of 10 and 1 group of 9, with the Top 5 in each group advancing. The 325 that emerged from this round were redistributed into 35 groups of 9 (this time with 1 group of 10), and the Top 5 were taken from these pools as well.

With these 180 "finalists," we began a Swiss-style tournament, with initial pairings based on performance in the previous round. Then for the Top 25, a round-robin tournament will most likely be used in order to firm up the top of the list. Exact formatting for the final round is still up in the air, should someone suggest a better alternative, and suggestions are always welcome for this current round.

Each day's matches are, of course, being held in a separate topic (search "top 100 pokemon," perhaps), with all results and such contained in here. Any comments or suggestions at any point during the contest, as well as users willing to help with tallying, are appreciated.

Round 3 is quickly drawing to a close, with Topic 3 of Day 9 currently underway. After its completion, Day 10 will be the final round of competition in the Swiss-style tournament. Then any necessary tiebreakers will occur in order to firm up the order of the bottom 75. From there, the Top 25 Pokemon from the end of Round 3 will compete in the round-robin tournament to determine the order of the top end of the list. We're nearly there!
