The format for round 1 is double elimination. The characters have been seeded from 1-8 depending on their performance so far, and will go against each other in head to head matches. The 40 that win are through to the next round. However, the 40 that lose will be given a second chance and face each other in a further head to head match - lose again and that's it, finito, kaput.
Therefore we are losing 20 characters this round.
This is the last day of first matches, tomorrow the second chances start.

3) No alts, rallying or trading.
4) Winning characters advance to round 2, losing characters will get a second chance.
