brawl is objectively a bad game.

"This game is objectively a subjective statement"

MAKES SENSE TO ME

You can make objective measures of game quality, at least in some areas. Like...how glitchy a game is (in Melee, for instance, time mode can't be used at all for serious competition because it will, at random, sometimes award you both a death and a suicide--significant glitch; fortunately it's not the only game mode).

But Brawl doesn't do a whole lot explicitly wrong, like glitches that record the wrong winner. It's not to my taste, but there's not a lot I can point at and say "See that? That is explicitly wrong." As opposed to "That's a valid design decision, and here's why they made it and the audience that benefits from it, I'm just not that audience."

Well...except random tripping. Random tripping is just blatantly awful for every audience.
