I'm assuming he means the context-sensitivity of the DS3's face buttons, which is something the 360 doesn't have.
Pretty much this.
I was also thinking about the way the face buttons are flat and more responsive, whereas, the 360 buttons are slightly convex and are slightly more resistant to pressure. Not a big issue, but the PS3 face buttons are slightly better.
