It's too bad, because Elliot gaining confidence could have been handled really well, too. A natural evolution of the character would have made her one of the better characters in the series. Instead, it started making her more and more unlikeable.
Also, I like how she went from "never having an orgasm and being sexually repressed" to "barely above whore-level." It's like the writers decided to create a whole new character after a while.
I used to like her more in the earlier seasons and hate her in the later seasons. That's somewhat reversed now, I like her more in the later seasons. Mostly. She's pretty much got an equal amount of terrible moments throughout the series. Overall, I enjoy her when she's more confident, but she was without a doubt at her best in season 8, when both her and J.D. has suddenly matured a lot and really bloomed as a couple.
