It's funny because MGS1 is the best game game that gets held back by ugliness and it's the one not getting the upgrade.
Mostly all they do in HD remakes is upscale the existing game. Doesn't really work for a PS1 game, outside of the text. (And they can't use Twin Snakes).

Peace Walker essentially replaced Portable Ops in the timeline as Kojima had nothing do it with it. PoOps never happened and for good reason because it lived up to it's acronym
No no no. PO still exists. PW cannot exist without it because of the thing BB gets at the end of PO to start up his merc group. They just don't take the particulars of certain plot elements of PO too seriously.
