There's a monumental difference between being down by a ton in baseball and down by a ton in football/basketball/hockey.
The lack of a clock means that any comeback of any magnitude is still feasible until that final out. Unlikely, sure, but POSSIBLE.
I'm not inflexible on this. I'm sure certain people leaving have legitimate reasons. If you're a surgeon and your shift starts in 8 hours then hell yes get home and get some rest.
