To be fair, most people say the Sonic sucking started from Shadow the Hedgehog, so you can throw out Advance, Advance 3, and Rush. And Unleashed isn't exactly "great". "good" maybe.

Sonic and the Secret Rings
Sonic and the Black Knight
so depending on how you view Unleashed it's either 4 vs 2 or 5 vs 1 since Shadow.
Secret Rings was good. Not a classic, but definitely fine. I'll give you the other three though!
