The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, or the Causeway, consists of two parallel bridges crossing Lake Pontchartrain in southern Louisiana, United States The longer of the two bridges is the eighth-longest in the world and the second-longest over water, measuring 23.83 miles (38.35 km) long. The Jiaozhou Bay bridge, completed in June 2011, links China's eastern port city of Qingdao to Huangdao island and is longer than the Causeway by 2.5 miles.
