Amazing things that we've already seen just from the release of this bracket:
Fighting games other than Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat getting represented even though it isn't 2002 anymore
Final Fantasy V finally getting representation.
A freeware game being represented in the bracket.
Der Fuhrer
A match where either Pac-Man or Crash Bandicoot will end up making the second round. Need I remind you that it still isn't 2002 anymore?
More shenanigans involving Frog vs. the Metal Gear Solid series, coming soon.
And a few predictions on what's to come:
Final Fantasy V winning a contest match, which will already move it ahead of IV and XIII and tie it with XII for contest wins. Oh, wait, FFIV has one win and FFXII has two--I forgot about Games Contests, and FFIV made round 2 in Spring 2009 while FFXII made round two in GotD. Well, still.
7 contest wins for pairs that had to go through the vote-ins, including 3 (and by extension, a division championship) for a single one.
Alucard/Dracula vs. Chell/GLaDOS for the Southwest Division Final. This should be suitably awesome.
