I've never had hard, direct trauma to the boys. Worst I've had are grazing blows, and those are plenty indication that I never want anything more.
TBH, I find those more painful in general than full on blunt force trauma to the jewels.
That's more because it's almost always more painful than you'd expect it to be, and the pain creeps up on you. A hard blow hurts more, but it's constant.
