Pacing? The game's sequence of events is literally exactly the same except the Sevii Islands which you are completely capable of skipping.

I'm pretty sure you have to visit a couple of the islands towards the end of the game, right? I haven't played it since it first came out, but I remember that being the case. At any rate, it's not a big deal, but I personally prefer non-Sevii Kanto.

The second thing is obvious nostalgia goggle junk that has no place in determining whether a game is better than another.

You talking about the glitches or the soundtrack? If you're talking about the glitches, I'm not sure why that'd be irrelevant - the Mew Glitch is loads of fun to play around with, and though it wasn't included in the game on purpose, it's undeniably increased the game's fun factor for me and many others. And if you're talking about the soundtrack, I can safely say that nostalgia has no part in my opinion. I mean, I have a lot more nostalgia about GSC's soundtrack... and yet I'm fully willing to admit that HGSS has a soundtrack that's equal, if not better.
