GameFAQs is a site for gamers. The last I want to see on this site are comic book characters and Disney characters that I can't care less about duking it out in the quarterfinals.
Agreed, it'd be a horrible sight to behold. I suppose my main grievance is the excitement and the expectation some people have here that comic book, movie etc characters could do really well. The idea that gaming fans would have an inferiority complex or a preference towards characters of another medium would be a really bad situation, and pretty sad for our medium in general.
I'd like to think if this idea did go ahead the non-VG originated gang would fall flat on their face. Nothing would make me happier than seeing Phoenix Wright knock out Batman. Though ideally I'd rather support an idea that could make a good contest and not just something that I hope will fail to wave an "I told you so" flag at everyone.
