Because you're either asking people to make a very difficult distinction of voting for a character based in another medium purely on their video game side entry. Or you're asking them to vote on a characters multi-media presence using a video game appearance as some sort of token qualifier.
If its going to happen I'd rather it happened as an open multi-media character battle. Rather than trying to masquerade the likes of batman and simba as video game characters.
