I get your point there, I just tend to dislike characters that can get me pissed off. And he was the first main character to ever do so. But you're right, I don't dislike Hannibal Lecter or dislike people that like him for who he is. I have no opinion on his movie since I've never seen it, nor plan to due to squeemish-ness...
Now for another reply. Second season, yes, it wasn't as bad as people treat it. It showed Light truly going crazy, another person that was just as crazy. And two enemies that were not as cool as L, or even close for that matter (for your information, no I'm not Near. I'm far cooler than that twerp. But not as cool as L). But still had a nice way of everything evading, and a very nice ending (leaving it as that to not give accidental spoilers).
