It's also not fair that Anakin gets to retain a younger form while Obi-Wan is stuck as an old guy forever.

Overall, I agree that some of the CGI is unnecessary, and I especially don't like how CGI is so much more prevalent in movies nowadays. I get that it's easier, and when done correctly, it looks great. A lot of the time though, it's just too much, looks wrong/fake, and takes you out of the experience. I like it better when directors try to do things the old ways, using more props and models and such to get their shots and make it look more real.

That said, most of the CGI scenes added in the special edition aren't bad, the majority of them are just little things here and there, like more shots of the Millennium Falcon flying through Cloud City and such, Cloud City itself is vastly improved with the open windows, allowing you to see more. Other things like an X-Wing blowing up a TIE Fighter and flying through the explosion. Just those sort of things that I really enjoy.

The band scene isn't terrible, it at least doesn't bother me too much, but I understand the complaint. I do agree that Jabba being in ANH is trash.

Wikipedia claims they were released on DVD in 2006. Hell if I've ever seen them, though.

Hmm. I may just have to search a little harder then.
