Replace the asterisk with the letter s. That's me correctly predicting the entire playoffs nearly a month ago, before any games had been played, even coming ridiculously close on some scores (like my prediction of a 20-16 Giants win in the NFC Championship, a game they won 20-17; or the 45-13 prediction of the Pats/Broncos game that ended 45-10, amongst others).

The one game I chose not to predict, until now, was the Super Bowl because I'm a Jets fan and the thought of another Giants/Pats Super Bowl made me sick. I'm now ready to make that prediction.

*SUPER BOWL XLVI SPOILERS*

New York Giants (9-7) vs. New England Patriots (13-3)

The two most important factors of this game are:

1) Rob Gronkowski will be far from 100%, if he's even able to play at all.

2) This will essentially be a home game for the Giants.

That's all you need to know. The Giants secondary was suspect coming into the playoffs, but they have played extremely well and should be able to slow down a Pats offense that is missing their biggest piece. Wes Welker (who's hurting as well) will still manage to have 8+ receptions but they will mostly be meaningless. Eli, on the other hand, will have a field day against the Pats secondary. I also expect a big day from an unlikely source such as Ahmad Bradshaw. I can see him sneaking his way to 100 yards and a TD without anybody noticing. I also expect Victor Cruz to have one very long reception either very early or very late in the game. I also expect Brady to get sacked and fumble the ball at least once in Giants territory.

The Prediction
Giants 34 - Patriots 21
MVP: Eli Manning
