No, it was not Maguire that understood spiderman. It was Raimi. His flicks are lighthearted and fun. Maguire himself has no sense of humor and is not funny enough to be peter parker. This one seems to have a much better Peter, but a much less "spiderman" tone. Kind of sad we couldn't get both right.
Fair enough. So I'll change that from "I liked Maguire as Spiderman more" to "I liked the Maguire Spiderman more".
