I usually just get pushed/thrown in tbqh... I don't go to public pools either cause that seems really disgusting so it's just my friends and well they know I'm a weirdo anyway >_>
Swimming in Phoenix sucks though. In winter the water gets really cold (We don't have a high tolerance for cold here >_>) and in summer its too hot to be outside and you get sunburnt! Even with sunscreen.

I'm thinking your obsession with socks is moving beyond weird to just plain fetishism.
Its not so much that I like socks, more that I hate being barefoot. Think of it less like a sock obsession and more of a.... barefoot phobia.
