so wait are there really just 13 big computers that form the entire backbone of the internet? and if you got rid of them it would all be inaccessible? or am I understanding this wrong?
Each one is multiple computers with some being on multiple continents. And together they basically allow you to access other websites so if thats what you mean by backbone then yes.
