I thought you were one of the smart ones, Zeus.

I feel betrayed.

1. Its disrespectful to the life of the animal to consume its flesh without being able to have the balls to take it yourself. I am not saying you have to kill everything you eat, but you claim it wouldn't be possible for you to do so given the opportunity. You do not deserve to consume that which you could not create yourself. That makes you a parasite on the abilities of others.

2. HYPERBOLE

3. The reason it is wrong to use methods of killing which inflict pain is because of the psychological effects it has on the person inflicting the pain just as much as the creature experiencing the pain. If you really can empathize with a sea bug with a completely different nervous system and evolutionary tree than humans to the paint it causes you distress it might be the sign of psychological problems and you should get that looked into. I won't lose any sleep over boiling a lobster alive if its done with the purpose of providing sustenance for myself or others.

Different versions of cooking yield different results to the flavor. Killing lobsters (or trying) before cooking them is NOT the best way to cook a lobster to get the best flavor and quality.
