You pay 5,000 in taxes? Your vote is worth half as much as someone who pays 10,000. Someone who pays 100,000 would then have 10 times the voting power of someone who pays 10,000. Kind of a way to achieve a completely regressive flat tax, by giving that person the voting power of multiple people. Of course, the poor are not just dollar bills. So this (and TC's idea) doesn't work. You can't measure a person's worth by their tax burden.
