I live on the outskirts of my city. You go one way you go into the city centre and get all the busy life and smells of city life. You go the other way you get the smell of the countryside and the quite life. Due to being more near to the countryside then the city it's not unknown to me to get the smell of farm animal shit carry on the air. I honestly don't mind it unless it's really, really strong. It's the good ol' smell of Yorkshire lad!
The cow smell I get to experience is the smell from probably a couple thousand cattle spread across a few ranches. It's especially awful during hot still summer days. Luckily, I don't go to the other city that often, so I don't have to have the pleasure.
Here there is feedlots on every side, but the smell is probably the worst in the fall and spring. Summer it isnt as bad surprisingly. Winter isnt bad, but everything is frozen ---
