Beats me. I don't think I even started playing it until Notch had already quit working on it, so stuff that seems old to me is probably new to you. But I can't really recall anything that fundamentally affected the game. That is, they just added a lot of stuff, but the old stuff I was used to working with still worked fine. The major exception would be that they made a big update to how combat works, but I got used to it.
