The Fonz wasn't the lead character/protagonist (or, at least, until much later on in the series?). From that clip, I wouldn't watch this show if it was just about a generic smart kid; but I like TBBT, so I'll watch this show if only to see if it has ties to TBBT beyond the initial premise. Maybe this show will be better when we can see whole episodes; when I see preview clips of TBBT, I often find them less funny than I do when I see them in context. It's not just about intelligence but also social awkwardness.
