You can always sacrifice your integrity to get yourself ahead - but that usually ends very badly. You can always lie, cheat, and steal - that doesn't make it a good decision. If the person is looking for a job and you think they'd be a good fit - let both that person and the hiring manager know. It's not a secret that a graduating intern is considering a full time position. You don't know that by the time you graduate there won't be a better fit or that the hiring manager will open another spot for you anyway. Also, may is gone - is this 1 year in the future? If so, this is way too early for any employer to consider a candidate - even one they've invested in via internships so you gain nothing by trying to hide anything - the jobs open now are almost guaranteed not to be there in 1 year. ...
