If you're also not confident enough in your own abilities that you think literally anyone being (potential) competition is going to cause you to lose your opportunity, again, I don't know what to tell you. Also, the fact that you're considering being this dishonest at this early of a stage in your career tells me you'd probably have no problem being incredibly dishonest later on in your career when the stakes are much higher.
