If you're literally so fragile that just being honest about what your job entails means you'll lose it, then idk what to tell you. If you're also not confident enough in your own abilities that you think literally anyone being (potential) competition is going to cause you to lose your opportunity, again, I don't know what to tell you.

Also, the fact that you're considering being this dishonest at this early of a stage in your career tells me you'd probably have no problem being incredibly dishonest later on in your career when the stakes are much higher.

You don't seem like the type of person I would want working for me.

My natural reaction was to be honest and I've already talked to him about the position already, probably enough to give him an idea anyway, it wasn't until later when I thought that I might be an idiot for not taking advantage of the situation. I've been told I'm not cut throat enough.
