I froze right in the last two minutes and started to struggle -- forgetting some common ones -- at maybe the 7 or 8 minute mark.
It's annoying because Horsea and Seadra I was looking at just today. Snorlax is a super-common Pokemon I've mained in a lot of games and, I should add, I also nearly forgot Magikarp and Gyarados. Likewise, Cubone, Marowak, Voltorb, and Electrode are all really common Pokemon which I encounter frequently in the games and I have used Cubone. Ditto for Aerodactyl, which I raised a half-decent one in RBY.
In the case of Exeggecute, it was merely a matter of not being able to spell the damn name.
In general, the only two absolute misses were Mr. Mime -- which I encountered a bunch of in-game (and he's got a role in the cartoon), but forgot he was a thing -- and Porygon. Porygon I've used his evo but, in general, he's naturally obscure.
The big issue is the way I tried to remember them after the early ones. I knew that there were 4 trade-evo lines and I got Geo & Abra right away, Machop a bit later, then struggled on Poly. Gyms helped me out with others. Random water Pokemon got me a bunch. Then, of course, you have a lot of paired Pokemon such as Magmar, Electabuzz and Jynx; Bellsprout and Oddish; etc. The ones that killed me are things that didn't link to anything and, of course, I was helped out with Tangela from that other topic. ---
