So the book couldnt fix something they didnt know exist at the time And yet even then, the book mentioned they were never truly dinosaurs. That there were gaps in the DNA discovered in the amber, and they had to fill it in with other animals. The movie even did a homage to this plot point with Dr. Grant referencing the frog DNA. They were never truly dinosaurs, so any actual historical parallel is irrelevant. You could argue Jurassic World could have engineered them to fit paleontological understanding of the time, but Dr. Wu mentioned in that movie he didn't care.
