The first picture of trifle in this topic was a shitty one. No defined layers and it has fucking jello in it? A thinner layer of proper fruit with gelatin is correct. That picture is clearly just a thick chunk of jello with some fruit. Such a shame to even call that a trifle.

You never will find a better dessert than a proper trifle. Whether a light one with fruit or a subtle chocolate or even wilder flavors, they're just so lovely.

Edit: Eugh. Both of the pictures of trifle on that Wikipedia page are bad. Trifles have clearly defined layers! From Google image search, these are all actually trifles:

See? Layers. You don't just throw some shit in a trifle dish and call it a trifle. It needs clean layers. I just made a beautiful strawberry trifle last week. Whole top was decorated with raspberries. And you know what? That shit had layers.

It feels odd how angry it makes me to see an improper trifle. Why do I care this much?
