Same rules apply, he has to be a convincing Bond Girl. I'd consider it cheating to cast a trans woman in this role, as it's ironically less queer that way.

In short, genderbend the cast all you want, as long as the script stays the same.

That seems painfully convoluted and has far too many caveats to be adhered to by hollywood which is very producer/exec driven (read:mercurial), so to me it sounds like you'd be best served by the bottom option...?
