Topic	Ever been disappointed in a game turning out to be good?

I feel like a game like Mighty Number 9 that generated a good deal of drama, is the kind of game where some people did take pleasure in its failure. Had the game been better received with the same pre-release drama, I wonder if there wouldn't be a little bit of disappointment that they wouldn't be leading the lynch mob. I'm struggling to think of a game though that had a ton of pre-release drama and then turned out better than expected.
